Aaron Boose - Head Athletic & Massage Therapist

Aaron Boose is entering his 8th season as the Head Athletic Therapist and first season as the Registered Massage Therapist for the Windsor Express.

Born in Windsor Ontario, Aaron graduated from the Human Kinetics program at the University of Windsor (2007), the Applied Health Science (Athletic Therapy) program at Sheridan College (2010), and the Advanced Massage Therapy Diploma program from the Ontario College of Health and Technology (2014).

The Windsor Express is Aaron’s 4th local team that he has been the Athletic Therapist for, the other teams include the Sun County Panthers (OMHA), Essex Ravens (OVFL), and 8 seasons as the Assistant Athletic Therapist for the Windsor Spitfires (OHL)

As a Certified Athletic Therapist and Registered Massage Therapist, Aaron specializes in the overall health and safety of the Windsor Express players throughout the season, including the prevention, immediate care, and reconditioning of musculoskeletal injuries. Aaron uses contemporary rehabilitative techniques, therapeutic modalities, soft tissue mobilization, physical reconditioning, and supportive strapping procedures to promote an environment conducive to optimal healing in preparing the athlete for safe reintegration into an active lifestyle.

As a Certified First Responder, Aaron is the first person onto the court when any player sustains an injury, he is responsible for immediate injury assessment, basic emergency life support, recognition and management of acute traumatic neurological dysfunction, provision of first aid, preparation for entrance into appropriate health care delivery systems, and where appropriate, utilization of techniques facilitating a safe return to the game.

Dr. Todd Small - Team Chiropractor


To meet Dr. Todd is to wonder “where does he get so much energy?” Dr. Todd is currently training for his second Ironman race to be held in August 2012 in Mont. Tremblant, Quebec. It is this dedication to the sport of triathlons that gives him the focus and determination to succeed in other aspects of his life including the practice of chiropractic and at home with his family.

Throughout his early life in Saskatchewan, Dr. Todd was focused on hockey which is what most of the kids from the prairies play! After graduating from Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto in 1999, Todd settled in Windsor with his wife Sarah and started a family which has now grown to include three kids and two dogs.

Dr. Todd finds that having specific daily goals helps him to prioritize his day and to be present at whatever he is doing. Educating patients about chiropractic and healthy living inspires him to live his life with enthusiasm and vigor.

Dr. Todd is entering his 7th season as Windsor Express official team Chiropractor.

Michael Koonar - Team Physiotherapist


Michael Koonar is a Registered Physiotherapist and owner of Koonar Physiotherapy, a multi-disciplinary Rehabilitation Centre here in Windsor. Mr. Koonar is honoured to be the team Physiotherapist for the Windsor Express as it brings together his passion for Basketball as well as his expertise in Sports Injury Rehabilitation and Prevention. He graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a Masters in Physical Therapy and has since further enhanced his skills with additional training in manual therapy, acupuncture and advanced technologies, such as WAVE Exercise Therapy and Magnetic Field Therapy. This comprehensive background allows Mr. Koonar and his team at Koonar Physiotherapy to provide the best evidenced based practices to their clients, whether Windsor Express Players or the weekend warriors.

Dr. J.C. Fedoruk - Team Physician


Dr. Fedoruk is a graduate of McMaster Medical School and has practiced as an emergency physician and ringside physician for over 37 years. He has a designated practice in Sports Medicine. He is licenced and board certified in Ontario and Michigan. He is an investigating and inquest coroner. He is also a lawyer and notary public.


Spencer Jean, DO, DO(MP), MBA, CBIS – Team Manual Osteopath


Spencer underwent his undergraduate studies on dual athletic (hockey) and academic scholarships at Florida Gulf Coast University and Adrian College. Forced into early athletic retirement due to injuries, Spencer was inspired to stay involved in sports. This prompted his decision to enter the field of osteopathy by studying in the Diploma of Osteopathic Manual Practice program at the National Academy of Osteopathy and in the Doctor of Osteopathy program at the National University of Medical Sciences. He completed his internship internally with the institutions and with Boston University’s Sport Legacy Institute specializing in Non-Surgical Orthopedics.

Upon graduation, he found himself back in his home town of Windsor, Ontario to establish his osteopathic practice. Spencer furthered his academic endeavors with a Master’s of Business Administration in Healthcare Administration. He is now a manual osteopath for Olympic and professional athletes, as well as an Ambassador of Windsor Regional Hospital.

Spencer is a current member of the National Manual Osteopathic Society, Society of Osteopaths of Canada, Ontario Osteopathic & Alternative Medicine Association, American Academy of Certified Brain Injury Specialists, and The Association of MBAs in Canada (AMBAC).

Nicole Wagner, RMT., SMTcc. - Assistant Massage Therapist


Nicole Wagner is entering her third season with the Windsor Express as a trainer and second year with the team as a Registered Massage Therapist.

Born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, she graduated as a Registered Massage Therapist at Canadian College of Health Sciences and Technology in Windsor, Ontario in May 2016.

Nicole works with the Express throughout the entire season to maintain the overall health of each player to prevent, treat and manage injuries. Her massage treatments use a combination of mysofascial release, trigger point release, soft tissue mobility techniques as well as mobility cupping, neuromuscular techniques and traditional Swedish massage.
